JCPS receives Stormwater Assistance Grant We are very excited to announce that The Jersey City Public Schools District is a recipient of Governor Murphy’s Stormwater Assistance Grants. JCPS will develop a plan to survey and retrofit up to 39 schools with green infrastructure and construct rain gardens at two of them.

Fifth Grader Launches ‘Food for Love’ to Combat Hunger Jersey City residents can make a positive impact on the community at any age. Just ask 11-year-old Emery Hofmann, a fifth-grade student at Jersey City’s Dr. Michael Conti Public School No. 5, and her two best friends, Liza Farrell and Scarlett McNamara, the young students behind the school’s Food for Love Food Drive that ran in February.
